The Nike Mercurial Vapor Aero is improved for 2008 with a new heel counter for better break-in and comfort. Made of a NIKESKIN upper, a super lightweight, ultra thin material that conforms to the natural curves of the foot. The Mercurial Vapor's sculptured arch provides stability and great in shoe comfort and the Peeva sockliner gives comfort and cushioning.

The outsole consists of a NIKEFRAME contoured glass filled nylon structural plate that creates stability and enhances immediate take off as the platform springs immediately back to its original characteristics. Featuring a Speedtract plate, the Mercurial Vapor has been designed for speed. Regional specific placement of the studs provides maximum traction and acceleration, giving the player a real edge on match days and a unique interlocking system, NikeSnap, allows a player to change the length of the studs in a matter of seconds.
